Irvington Arts Collective Update
Hello IPC! I wanted to get the word out that we FAR exceeded our match grant! As a congregation, we raised nearly $10,000. I am incredibly thankful to each member of this community who has support this idea of an arts collective at IPC. Whether you’ve supported with your money, your time, your talent, your telling others, or your prayers, each and every expression of support is so very valued.
As I announced to the choir this past week, this summer, I left my job at UIndy to devote myself fully to IPC and the Irvington Arts Collective. Over the past weeks and months, we created a marketing plan, began founding documents, had many, many meetings with potential collaborative partners, and worked toward raising more funds to bring the collective to reality. Our grant with the Clowes Foundation is moving along and we should hear about that support in October.
How can you help now? 1) Share any ideas you may have with Webb (wparker@irvpresby.org). 2) Tell your friends and family about the collective. If you know someone who might be interested in being a part of what we are doing, please share that with me! 3) Continue giving! Donations are being accepted on the church website. 4) Are you a graphic designer or have those skills and would like to help us out with some promotional materials? Please get in touch with Webb. We’d love your help!
We are doing lots of behind the scenes work so that we can have a ‘grand opening’ of the collective in January 2024. That grand opening will include a gala, community chorus rehearsal, and our contemplative meditation service.
Your amazing support of this idea tells me that you all are just as excited about this opportunity as I am. I am so looking forward to where we can take this and the opportunities it will provide IPC and the community around us. Thank you all for helping to breathe life in to the Irvington Arts Collective at IPC.
With much gratitude,
Webb
