Visiting IPC
Anyone who seeks to have, or to explore, a relationship with God is welcome at Irvington Presbyterian Church. This includes people of all ages, previous religious affiliations, no previous religious affiliations, races, genders, lifestyles, hairstyles and financial means. The best way to find out more about the church is to visit us for Sunday worship at 10 a.m. The pastors and the whole congregation value each person and strive to provide a comfortable and meaningful space to seek God’s will.
Membership at IPC
Every few months, visitors are invited to attend an Inquiry Classes at the church. Led by the pastors, these classes describe the theology, history and practice of the church. After attending the classes visitors are invited to become active members of the church. Those who choose to join the church take the following membership vows:
Trusting in the gracious mercy of God, do you turn from the ways of sin and renounce evil and its power in the world?
Do you turn to Jesus Christ and accept him as your Lord and Savior, trusting in his grace and love?
Will you be Christ’s faithful disciple, obeying his Word and showing his love?
Do you promise to be a faithful member of this congregation, to share in its ministry through prayer and your gifts, your study and your service and so fulfill your calling to be a disciple of Jesus Christ?
The congregation of Irvington Presbyterian Church invites you to consider membership in our church. New members bring life, energy and talent into our congregation. Together, we are building a community dedicated to building up and supporting the kingdom of God.
