The IPC youth group is one of the many ways that the young people of the church, grades 6-12, can be involved in the life of the church. The purpose of the youth group is to create a place--physically and spiritually--where the youth can safely develop in their walk with Christ by asking questions, learning from scripture, serving the community and developing a sense of relationship with others.
Beginning with the 2010-11 program year, we will be joining with the youth group from Saint Andrew Presbyterian Church for many of our activities. We feel that this will enhance our opportunities for mission, fellowship and study. Our meetings will be held at both churches. We'll let you know where we will be meeting. Here's a map to Saint Andrew P.C. Rides from IPC will be available for those needing them. We will leave a 1/2 hour before the meeting is to start if we will be traveling to Saint Andrew!! We will be meeting the first and third Sundays of the month. On the first Sunday, we will meet from 5:00 to 8:00 for Reel to Real. During this time, we will watch a movie, eat supper and discuss each movie's implications for faith and life. On the third Sunday of each month, we will meet for more of a "typical" youth group meeting complete with Bible study, fun and food. We will meet from 5:30-7:30 p.m. We will also be planning other special events for fifth Sundays as well as other times.
Another hope is to increase the number of mission opportunities to be made available for all of our youth. This includes ongoing mission projects as well as a possible Summer 2011 mission trip. More will follow regarding these opportunities.
