UPDATE [October 2002]
"Things
are going well with us. Our work is going well and the children
are busy studying.
"This weekend our church in Alagoinhas is having a weekend retreat.
It's their town's local "Mardi Gras" celebration.
Towns in this area usually have a separate local festival during the
year., so the church goes away where it's quiet without all the
drinking, partying and dangerous acts people do at this festival when
they're drunk.
"The next Friday, Oct. 25, five people from the Worldwide Ministries
Division of the PC(USA) office in Louisville will be here. They
are going to spend 36 hours with us before we all go to a meeting of
missionaries from South America being held in the state of Sao Paulo.
We had a similar meeting five years ago.
"Thanks for continuing to pray for us and for caring about us."
